DESCRIPTION

The HPE LTO5 Ultrium 3TB RW Data Cartridge is suitable for read and write in all LTO5 Ultrium 5 tape drives. This tape is also suitable for 'read and write' in LTO6 Ultrium 6 tape drives. However, the HPE LTO5 Ultrium is 'read only' in all LTO7 Ultrium 7 tape drives. The HPE LTO5 tape has been extreme environmental, drop, shock, and vibration tested.  

Tape storage provides a reliable offline medium that creates "air gap" protection for your data. This means it is disconnected from your network and minimises the risk of data damage or loss caused by system failures, exposure to computer viruses and cyberattacks.

Built-in AES 256-bit encryption (LTO5 to LTO9) allows you to provide additional security for data stored on tape. With LTO encryption, even if tapes were to fall into the wrong hands, your data would be protected from unauthorised access.

HPE offers a limited lifetime warranty of for HPE LTO Ultrium cartridges, including up to 30 years archival life if stored at the recommended storage conditions.  This ensures that businesses can meet the ever-increasing demands of regulation for data retention and archiving.
