DESCRIPTION

The HPE LTO8 Ultrium 30TB RW Cartridge is designed to be used in all HPE LTO8 Ultrium 8 tape drives and libraries. Furthermore, this cartridge is suitable for read and write use in all brands of LTO8 or LTO Ultrium 8 tape drives and tape libraries.

Tape storage provides a reliable offline medium that creates "air gap" protection for your data. This means it is disconnected from your network and minimises the risk of data damage or loss caused by system failures, exposure to computer viruses and cyberattacks.

Built-in AES 256-bit encryption (LTO5 to LTO9) allows you to provide additional security for data stored on tape. With LTO encryption, even if tapes were to fall into the wrong hands, your data would be protected from unauthorised access.

HPE offers a limited lifetime warranty of for HPE LTO Ultrium cartridges, including up to 30 years archival life if stored at the recommended storage conditions.  This ensures that businesses can meet the ever-increasing demands of regulation for data retention and archiving.

SPECIFICATIONS

• The HPE LTO8 Ultrium tape has an uncompressed capacity of up to 12TB of data 
• This LTO8 will hold up to 30TB of data at speeds up to 900MB/sec of compressed capacity
• The HP LTO8 Ultrium cartridge uses the latest recording technology Barium Ferrite, (BaFe) for improved reliability, longevity and density
• Drives that use the HPE LTO8 tape are advised to use the HP LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge to keep the drive clean
